Hilton Head Preparatory School DECA Team Shines at State Conference, Two Students Advance to International Competition
HILTON HEAD ISLAND, SC – The Hilton Head Preparatory School DECA team had an outstanding first time showing at the South Carolina DECA Career Development Conference, competing against over 1,400 students from across the state. Eight team members earned top-ten finishes in their respective categories, showcasing their business acumen and competitive excellence.
The following Hilton Head Prep students received medals for their achievements:
- Aiven Lorenz – Business Finance Series Event
- Cade Kriscunas – Business Finance Series Event
- Danny Guy – Principles of Finance
- Chase Jones – Principles of Marketing
- Cristina Daniels – Principles of Marketing
- Jeff Adams – Professional Selling
- Izzy Losada – Restaurant and Food Service Management Series
- Rachel del Gaizo – Retail Merchandising Series
Among the top finishers, two students earned a coveted spot at the DECA International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Orlando, Florida, by placing in the top three in their respective events:
- Danny Guy – 2nd Place, Principles of Finance
- Jeff Adams – 3rd Place, Professional Selling
“These students have demonstrated incredible dedication and skill in their fields, and we couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments,” said Mr. Rehling, Hilton Head Prep’s DECA advisor. “Their success is a testament to their hard work and passion for business and marketing.”
DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) is a global organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. Through competitive events, leadership development, and real-world business experiences, DECA empowers high school and college students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed in the professional world. With a strong emphasis on innovation and collaboration, DECA helps students build connections, enhance their resumes, and develop a competitive edge for the future.
