Richard A. Basirico
rbasirico@hhprep.org A native of Long Island, NY, he graduated Magna cum Laude from St. Leo University and earned his Masters of Education in Secondary School Administration and Supervision from The Citadel. He was appointed Athletic Director, Head Basketball and Baseball Coach at May River Academy in 1979. Subsequent to the merger of May River and Sea Pines Academies, he continued as Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Hilton Head Preparatory School. In 1990, he accepted the position of Director of Student Activities for the Upper School. In 1993 he became Head of the Middle School and the following year moved to Head of the Upper School and continues in that capacity. He is married to Karen and is the father of three: Kristie, Brooke and Kevin, all Hilton Head Prep graduates. |
